SHELBY LANCER #356 'Falco Rosso' (Red Falcon)
Cost in 1987-20,000
Purchase cost in 1998-500!

I purchased #356 from the original owner in central Pennsylvania. It had been rode hard and put up very wet engine-wise, but the body and interior were in good shape. Exterior work includes:
-repainted fascia and hood
-'re-freshened' graphics (with a Sharpie; holding off on new graphics until I paint the whole thing)- with the exception of the back graphics (Thanks Positive Impressions!)
-replaced front bumper reinforcement

Engine rebuilt by POWERCURVE, Inc.
The new engine has .20 bored over pistons, a lightweight crank, 'stage 1' head work, ported/polished intake and exhaust manifolds, and a reman turbo with a higher A/R ratio. Current additions include a new A413 transmission, engine mounts, alternator, radiator, water pump, various sensors, and a 2.5" exhaust with a high-flow cat and Turbo muffler. What came out of Shelby's Whittier, CA, factory with 175 HP now puts out 240 at the flywheel!

Other mods include cruise control, Autometer boost gauge, MP struts, KYB shocks, Infinity AM/FM/Cassette Stereo with an Optimus 150W amp powering the original 10 Pioneer speakers, and custom ports for cellphone and CD.

All in all, over has been spent on Falco Rosso -
and I'm very happy with the results.

RECENT NEWS...It's Gone...
Falco Rosso is no longer mine. After trying to live with all the quirks and cost of repairing them, I finally realized that I bought a money pit. A family in Aurora (good Mopar people) bought her, and I have seen recently at a car show they have taken good care of the boy. It's a good car, and a lot of fun to drive, but if you don't have the money to keep it close to stock (or stock-looking), don't even try to buy the lower-priced cars.
