'FALKE' - a true labor of love...
...a car that was a 'money pit', to be sure. Falke is the German word for Falcon (tip 'o the hat to the Lancer), and my character in DIE FLEDERMAUS. This car was rode extremely hard and put up sopping wet, so it took a LOT to get the boy moving...

Here's the work...
First, towing from Danville, IL. New (?) engine & trans from an '86 Daytona CS turbo, new Haartz cloth top with glass window, found an OEM silver-faced AM/FM/Cass with EQ and ambiance control, rewiring (!!!!!), electronic navigator from an H-body (the way I keep mileage, since the odometer doesn't work), repair the digital dash, welding the small rust spots in the floorpan and spare tire well, Herculiner the floorpan (paint-on bedliner/rust stopper), new carpet, clean the leather/vinyl/cloth upholstery, etc...

After two years, Falke was ON THE ROAD. The transplanted engine had some compression problems, but didn't smoke - much. So I used 20/50 oil and a can of RESTORE at every oil change (I know, all the turbo purists can email me!), and the power never came back. That was it, and things were beyond my expertise and my pocketbook, so the boy went to eBay...
